A devastating flash flood has struck Nepal, and We Help Nepal is responding.

Communities are facing catastrophic flooding after a glacial collapse sent a wall of water through river valleys, sweeping away homes, roads and bridges. Global Purpose Group is once again supporting We Help Nepal as it responds to this emergency.

Drawing on 30 years of experience in Nepal — including our work following the 2015 earthquake — we are assessing where our support can make the greatest difference right now.

On the ground, Mr. Raj Bhatta is already delivering supplies to Battar, and we are committed to supporting his work and others in the days and weeks ahead. As the floodwaters recede, the focus will shift towards shelter and essential supplies for displaced families.

We Help Nepal is network of artists, business owners, doctors, teachers and development workers who have lived or are currently living in Nepal. We are united by our mutual connection to Nepal and our commitment to alternative development models.

Our expertise comes from our awareness of the Nepali social and political landscape, and our connections to local organizations that are beneath the international radar.

The recent earthquake was a natural disaster intensified by the man-made forces of rapid development, poverty, and conflict driven displacement. This fund will support immediate earthquake relief and rebuilding efforts rooted in a philosophy of relief to self-reliance, disaster to sustainable development.
